Banjarbaru Landed Housing is a design proposal for a competition held by Angkasa Pura to extend its
airport community facilities. We are assigned to do a master planning which incorporates commercial and residential areas, such as: shop houses, house for general manager and managers, one stories houses, and two stories houses.
We have several considerations for the master planning. First, is how to accomodate the required number
of units. Second, we try to give the opportunity for the user to enjoy the wider vista along the alley. Third, equal opportunities for the shophouses to face the alley is also another important thing we consider.
The design ideas for each units are adopt-ed from the traditional house of Banjar, Bubungantinggi. We adopt the silhouette of Bubungantinggi and try to transform it to architectural elements such as plates, volume, and line. We combined the element with boxes or with one another.
