Every client, story, details and experience; Architecture is at heart with literature, the other words for her hobbies (writing, reading, travelling and photography)
What our alumni say
One step ahead on the game.
Alasan magang, saya percaya mentor sangat penting sekali.
Terima kasih sebesar besarnya buat Monokroma Architect

monokroma was the first architect consultant office I worked at. I started as an intern, but I am grateful I learnt more than an intern did. Instead of an office, this consultant had been a family for me and a suitable place to learn a lot about architecture practice. Even though now I'm working as a financial consultant, the things I've learned in Monokroma was enough to prepare me as a freelance architect.

I miss it so damm much. The atmosphere was perfect; the vegetarian, the peewee, the nerd, the boss, the cats and guys, the place was so remindful. Such a remorse to part with monokroma. I thank you guys so much.
And for the newcomers, trust me, please stick longer and learn as much as you can from Pak Ari.

monokroma was the first architecture firm I’d worked for. Working as an architect as well as an administrator there, I found a genuinely different environment from the interior design and contractor company I’d worked in previously in Singapore. The difference lies in how the companies think. In my previous jobs, I had to work super fast, with no mistake, and on only easy-to-built designs -so that the revenue’d come faster. But in the architecture firm, design alternatives are important (by setting aside design Terms of Reference in one of the alternatives, we could even make the client adjust their budget). Other than that, I was taught to be more creative to explore not only looks but also textures of materials, to think about how to build it, and many more. Because of all these, I felt like I restarted everything all over again and I indeed learned a lot from this place.
You are the architect so you need to think as an architect, put your creativity in there and combine it with what client wants.
